A fairly anecdotal meeting between two teams which, even with a victory, was not going to make a jump in the standings this evening. A success would then have been more beneficial for the Galicians, stuck in an embarrassing 18th place.

A rank that they held throughout the meeting. Without offensive ideas, the visitors saw their opponents have ample control of the ball. Ultra-dominant, the Rayo players pushed to open the scoring but were ultimately too inept to achieve it throughout the match despite numerous attempts by Isi Palazon (28th, 50th, 70th). With this goalless draw, it is almost a status quo: the Madrid club gains one place and is tenth while Celta remains 18th.
