At the end of his contract next June, Anthony Martial should not extend with Manchester United. He could even leave this winter.
Anthony Martial and Manchester United, it’s almost over. According to The Athletic, the Red Devils do not intend to activate the last year as an option in the French striker’s contract. The former Monegasque should therefore have a change of scenery next summer, or perhaps even before. If an offer arrived this winter, Man Utd would be ready to consider it.

Martial arrived in Manchester in 2015, recruited at a high price by the Red Devils who believed they had the “new Thierry Henry”. It was one or two years before the emergence of a certain Kylian Mbappé, and Martial did not really follow the same trajectory as the Bondynois.
Only 1 goal this season for Martial
His time in Manchester was full of ups and downs. A promising first season, with 11 Premier League goals at just 20 years old. More complicated exercises then, despite a peak of 17 goals and 6 assists in the league, in 2019-2020. Martial was even loaned to Sevilla for six months, in the first half of 2021, to find playing time.
This season, Martial is competing with rookie Rasmus Hojlund. His assessment? 13 appearances in the Premier League, therefore 5 starts, and only 1 goal. And 4 small entries into the Champions League. Not enough to encourage Mancunian leaders to change their minds about him. Martial, who has just celebrated his 28th birthday, will have to find a new club to bounce back.
