After receiving his Player of the Month trophy for November in La Liga before Atlético-Almeria on Sunday, Antoine Griezmann was elected MVP of the match. The French international was responsible for both goals for the Colchoneros.

Antoine Griezmann’s superb season with Atlético continues. The French international fully contributed to the victory of Diego Simeone’s team against Almeria (2-1) on Sunday at Civitas Metropolitano. After scoring a nice goal disallowed for offside (6th), “Grizi” recovered a ball on the left wing and found Alvaro Morata, who raced to goal to open the scoring (17th). In the process, the 2018 world champion shifted Marcos Llorente, whose center was taken by Angel Correa (22nd).

Before the match, Griezmann presented his Player of the Month trophy for November in “LaLiga EA Sports” (the official name of the Spanish championship), succeeding Jude Bellingham and Take Kubo. At the final whistle, it was the 32-year-old left-hander who was named MVP of the match by the La Liga technical committee. He has two assists in La Liga, in addition to his nine goals in the league and four in the Champions League.

In the standings, Atlético is third before Barça’s match against Girona and takes the opportunity to come back to within five lengths of the leader, Real. Almeria is the red lantern, still without any victory on the clock, and eight points behind the first non-relegation place.
