Nice won at home this Sunday against Reims (2-1), as part of the fifteenth day of Ligue 1.

A week after its one and only defeat since the start of the season in the league (1-0, against Nantes), OGC Nice resumed its march ahead. While hosting Stade de Reims this Sunday, the Aiglons managed to escape the trap set by Will Still’s men to win at the very end of the match (2-1, 15th day). A success which allows them to recover second place in the ranking at the expense of AS Monaco.

After a relatively dull and closed first period, it was the locals who broke the deadlock, ten minutes after the restart, thanks to Laborde’s goal, they are third in the league (1-0, 55th). But the Rémois showed that they had resources by equalizing through their captain, Abdelhamid (1-1, 78th). A short-lived joy for the visitors who conceded a second goal, this time the work of Boga, four minutes later (2-1, 82nd).

Reims is still stalling

Nothing more will be scored and the Niçois were able to raise their arms to the sky at the final whistle, taking advantage of it to come back to within four lengths of the Parisian leader. For Reims, it is a third defeat in its last four outings in Ligue 1. It remains provisionally sixth.
