The Paris Saint-Germain match against Nantes (2-1) provided some answers in view of the shock in Dortmund on Wednesday.

Apart from their yellow jersey, FC Nantes and Borussia Dortmund don’t have much in common. Luis Enrique kept repeating it in front of the press. However, it was indeed a dress rehearsal that took place on Saturday evening at the Parc des Princes. By winning against the Canaries (2-1), the French champions completed circuits in an animation that they should keep in Germany. Several lessons emerge.

The first concerns the position of Kylian Mbappé. Luis Enrique claimed that his star had “total freedom”. In fact, it is in a central position that Mbappé has just had two consecutive meetings. A position that he could keep in the lair of Borussia, which he knows well having presented himself to Europe when he hatched in Monaco, in 2017. Mbappé’s role could determine the potential tenure of Bradley Barcola. The young winger scored points on Saturday, in addition to unlocking his score.

In the middle, the return to the group of Warren Zaire-Emery and his entry into play on Saturday leaves little room for doubt as to his start on Wednesday. There is a strong chance of seeing the neo-international numerically replace Carlos Soler in the starting lineup that he lined up against Nantes. A composition which could therefore be almost identical, considering that the return of Marquinhos, started on Saturday, is a given. It remains to be seen who will be associated with the Brazilian: Skriniar, rested at kick-off yesterday, or Danilo as solid as ever?

The possible line-up against Dortmund : Donnarumma – Hakimi, Marquinhos, Skriniar (or Danilo), Hernandez – Ugarte, Zaire-Emery, Vitinha – Lee, Mbappé, Barcola.
