Raphaël Varane and Casemiro could be sold by Manchester United in January as part of a major squad clean-up by Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils face being knocked out of the Champions League this month and will fail to crack the top four in the Premier League, after a mixed start to the 2023/24 season.

Erik Ten Hag ready to listen to offers for key players, according to The Independent who claims Casemiro and Varane are on his possible starting list.

Varane’s two-and-a-half years at United were disrupted by injuries, but the French centre-back has been left out of the starting XI in recent weeks, despite returning to full fitness.

Casemiro is currently on the sidelines, but the Brazilian has also suffered a dip in form, following a brilliant debut campaign at Old Trafford.

With both players over 30, Ten Hag is aware that their value in Europe is low, but the option of a move to the Saudi Pro League is possible.

Both players are said to be frustrated with their respective positions at Manchester and a move to the Middle East would represent a final step in their careers for the former Real Madrid duo.

Casemiro has won five Champions Leagues in the Madrid jersey, Varane four, as well as three Champions Leagues each.
