Sidelined at Tottenham since last summer, Hugo Lloris could quickly bounce back in another important Premier League club. Newcastle are in fact looking for a goalkeeper to compensate for the long absence of Nick Pope.

Hugo Lloris sees the end of the tunnel… The former goalkeeper and captain of the France team did not find a new challenge last summer, when he had agreed to an end to his collaboration with Tottenham, after eleven great seasons with Spurs. Since then, the 36-year-old, still under contract until June 2024, has been put on the shelf, Ange Postecoglou trusting Guglielmo Vicario, an excellent number 1, and Fraser Forster as an understudy.

After refusing to go to Saudi Arabia or on the bench of Lazio, Lloris could bounce back to another important Premier League club! As indicated in the Daily Mirror, the native of Nice is Newcastle’s priority track for the winter transfer window. Recruitment expected from the first days of January. The Magpies have indeed lost their starting goalkeeper, Nick Pope, for four months, victim of a dislocated shoulder last week.

Martin Dubravka is now Eddie Howe’s starter (he will be on the last day of the Champions League group stage, next Wednesday against AC Milan, with still a chance to overtake PSG at the finish), but Lloris could therefore arrive in order to compete with the Slovak international. David De Gea, free from any contract since his departure from Manchester United, would also be in the good books of Newcastle.
