Bayer misses the mark

Bayern crushed the day before in Frankfurt (5-1), Bayer missed the opportunity to take more control of the Bundesliga.

On behalf of the 14^e lifting the championship, Leverkusen settled for a (good) point on the Stuttgart pitch (1-1).

VfB opened the scoring before the break with Fuhrich (40^e), but Wirtz returning from the locker room allowed the visitors to equalize (47^e).

With this extra point in the bag, Bayer temporarily takes a four-step lead over Bayern who are one game behind. Stuttgart is third, five units from the top.
