In the provisional standings, Real Madrid is now under threat from Girona who could get back in front on Sunday, in the event of success against FC Barcelona.
Saturday on the lawn of the Benito Villamarin stadium in Seville, Betis and Real kept each other in respect for a long time. So much so that no goals were scored in the first half. Madrid under threat
In the standings, Real Madrid is therefore a small point ahead of Girona, its direct pursuer. The latter will travel to the FC Barcelona pitch on Sunday for a duel between the second and third. If Girona were to win, they would regain a two-point lead over Real Madrid. Concerning Betis, Manuel Pellegrini’s men are provisionally seventh. Also note that a little earlier in the afternoon, Las Palmas did the right thing by winning away, on the Alaves field (0-1).
