With a new shareholder, PSG sees its valuation rise to 4.25 billion euros. For what place in world sport?

PSG, via QSI, has a new ally – Arctos Partners – an American company which has just acquired 12.5% of the capital of the Parisian club for 531 million euros. With this new contribution, PSG is valued at 4.25 billion euros – approximately 4.59 billion dollars. A dizzying leap given the 70 million euros invested in 2011 by Qatar.

From now on, in financial terms, Paris is the seventh stronghold in world football, certainly still far from the benchmarks in this area, Real Madrid and Manchester United, valued respectively at 5.64 and 5.57 billion euros, but more very far from Bayern and Manchester City, which weigh 4.51 and 4.63 billion euros – Liverpool and Barça joining the two cars, at 4.91 and 5.12 billion euros.

32e of the world hierarchy

On the other hand, on the scale of world sport, PSG remains at a very reasonable distance from the top, at the gates of a Top 30 which gives pride of place to American franchises from the NFL and NBA in particular. The Dallas Cowboys, in US football, reign over the planet, perched at 9 billion dollars according to Forbes, which places the New York Yankees in MLB (7.1 billion dollars), the Golden State Warriors in NBA ( 7 billion) and the New England Patriots in the NFL (also 7 billion).

From the top of its 4.59 billion dollars valuation, PSG ranks 32e of the hierarchy, wedged between the NFL franchise of the Green Bay Packers (4.6 billion) and the MLB franchise of the Boston Red Sox (4.5 billion). First football representative in this ranking, Real Madrid is 11e at $6.07 billion. F1 just appears in the Top 50, at 45e and 47e levels thanks to the Ferrari and Mercedes teams valued at 3.9 and 3.8 billion dollars.
