Stuck in a disappointing 12th place in Ligue 1, Stade Rennais has not drawn a line under its objectives. And the ambition of the Breton club is clear: Europe. Rennes still aspires to get back to the top of the table by taking advantage of the irregularity of its competitors. This is the message that Julien Stéphan sent.
“ I can’t be in that state of mind (on a possible change of objective, editor’s note). You can imagine that when we have been there for a little more than 15 days, we cannot have this kind of communication while being lucid about the situation, about the ranking. To mourn anything at a third of the championship, no”launched the technician, who replaced Bruno Genesio on the club’s bench.

“We simply have to continue to work and put the players in the best conditions so that there is the confidence, the commitment and the aggressiveness which are at their maximum to achieve the best possible results“, continued the Breton coach. Words which will have to translate into actions in an ideal match against a competitor, precisely, since Rennes will be opposed to Monaco this Saturday (5 p.m.).
