Real Madrid will make an offer for Kylian Mbappé in the January transfer window.

In recent weeks, the local press has suggested that Erling Haaland is a realistic alternative to the French superstar, but Real Madrid will make an effort to sign the Bondynois. According to Diario AS, Real Madrid will present an offer to Mbappé on January 1, the earliest date they can do so with less than six months of the player’s contract remaining. He will then give him a period of two weeks, until January 15, to accept his offer.

Previously, Mbappé had refused to sign anything in order to maintain relations with PSG in 2021, while the Blancos thought they had reached an agreement, but this time, the Merengue leaders will not accept any answer from Mbappé which does not is not a signed contract.

If the Paris striker delays or rejects the offer, Real Madrid will turn their attention to pursuing Haaland, having been in talks with the Norwegian before his huge success at Manchester City.

Haaland has reportedly told his camp not to rule out the possibility of joining Real Madrid, and there are plenty of reasons to believe he could be a good fit for the Madrid side as well. Not only is he a pure number nine, which would suit Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes better, but the hubris surrounding Mbappé is now a factor for Los Blancos to consider. That said, it’s hard to imagine Real Madrid giving up on Mbappé after a chase that has lasted just under a decade now.
