As part of the 15th day of the Premier League, Newcastle, who will play their future in the Champions League in the middle of next week, traveled to Everton this Thursday evening. Faced with the Toffees, 18th at kick-off and in great danger, the Magpies hoped to achieve a third success in a row in the league to come within a short distance of the top 4. Master of the debates in possession, Newcastle however saw themselves largely jostled by the team coached by Sean Dyche but took advantage of the lack of realism of the premises to stay in contact (2 shots on target by Everton out of 13 attempts during the first act).

Returning from the locker room, Newcastle returned with completely different offensive intentions but the Toons were unable to deceive the vigilance of Jordan Pickford. More threatening against the opposing goal, the visitors were however going to surprise themselves at the end of the match. First hero of the evening, Dwight McNeil played Martin Dubravka to give his team the advantage (1-0, 79th). In the process, Abdoulaye Doucouré stunned the Magpies (2-0, 86th) and thus secured the success of the Toffees before Beto, who had just entered the game, took part in the party (3-0, 90+6th). With this result (3-0), Newcastle remains 7th. Everton moves up to 17th and therefore leaves the red zone.
