Real Madrid will be widely linked with Kylian Mbappé in the coming weeks, but the latest news in the Spanish capital indicates that Alphonso Davies is the Whites’ number one target.
With Real Madrid chasing Erling Haaland if Kylian Mbappé decides not to leave, Davies is considered the ideal recruit to lock down the left side.
According to Diario AS, Davies, who is still in negotiations with Bayern Munich for a new contract, is asking for 15 million euros per year, a figure that makes life very difficult for the Bavarian team. The 23-year-old is out of contract in 2025 and Real Madrid believe they can get him at a reduced price next summer as his lease comes to an end.
Originally his demands were in the region of 12 million euros, but with negotiations halted in May due to internal chaos at Bayern, and interest from Real Madrid growing, agent Nedal Huoseh embarrassed Bayern by demanding a salary that would make him one of the highest-paid players in Germany.
At Real Madrid, Relevo claims that negotiations are “very advanced” and there is great optimism that once they reach an agreement with Davies, the Whites will be able to force Bayern’s hand. Hence the attempts to sell Ferland Mendy, knowing that Davies will take over from next season.
