FC Barcelona has a shot at recruiting Joao Felix from Atlético de Madrid.
FC Barcelona are hoping to permanently recruit Joao Felix, despite the Portuguese’s mixed performances with the Blaugrana this season. Atletico Madrid are reportedly demanding between 70 and 80 million euros for Felix, which is far more than FC Barcelona can afford. According to Mundo Deportivo, the Catalan club is considering making an offer of 30 to 40 million euros. If the Rojiblancos reject the offer, they will try to get Felix on loan for a second season.
A negotiation from January
Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona are eager to reach a deal to avoid further summer drama. Fearing that an avalanche of goals between now and the end of the season could give the Colchoneros a stronger negotiating position and spark interest in the Portuguese, the Blaugrana are ready to negotiate the transfer or loan of Felix from January.
Barcelona’s approach is similar to Atlético’s when re-signing Griezmann. Both parties understand that Felix is unlikely to return to his old team, especially in light of his celebrations against Atletico last weekend. Barca will try to bring the price down, knowing that Felix wants to stay and will not be welcome at Atlético.
Felix will be in action during Barcelona’s match against second-placed Girona on Sunday, December 10, as Xavi’s side attempt to narrow the four-point gap between them and their local rivals.
