Since the summer, Joao Felix has angered Atletico Madrid.
While still at Madrid, Joao Felix declared his intention to join FC Barcelona, for whom he eventually signed on a season-long loan.
Additionally, last weekend, before Barcelona’s clash with Atleti, Felix further angered Rojiblanco fans by making statements about the two clubs’ style of play. Eventually, the Portuguese scored the winning goal in the match, and he seemed to further attack Atleti by celebrating his goal.
Taking into account all these elements, Alberto Garcia, spokesperson for the International Union of Atlético de Madrid Supporters Clubs, issued a statement to Felix, in which he spoke on behalf of the entity (via Sport).
“It turns out he’s been a Barcelona fan since childhood and celebrates his goals as if they were a title. It was his second goal in La Liga, it’s not like he’s having a great season.
“He is ungrateful and disrespectful to a fan base that has been his and has treated him well. He generated a hostile atmosphere at the Metropolitano and we don’t want to see him again with the Atlético de Madrid jersey. He doesn’t deserve (the club) and he didn’t understand this club or these supporters.”
The return match between the two teams, which will take place on March 17 at the Civitas Metropolitano, promises to be exciting.
