Arrests took place during the match between Olympique de Marseille and Olympique Lyonnais.

While a decree this week banned Lyon supporters from traveling to Marseille, this Wednesday, for the rescheduling of the match between Marseille and Lyon (kick-off at 9 p.m.), the consequences of the first meeting of the October 29 reverberates again this week.
In addition to the stone-throwing of the Lyon bus causing serious facial injuries for Fabio Grosso and his deputy, a procedure was also opened following acts of racism emanating from supposed OL supporters. This Tuesday, three of these individuals were arrested in the Lyon region and placed in police custody in Marseille.

Nazi salutes and monkey cries

An investigation had been opened by the Marseille prosecutor’s office to “ incitement to racial hatred and racial insults » after monkey cries and Nazi salutes were reported at the Stade Vélodrome, before the kick-off of the match initially scheduled for October 29. These individuals would be close to – or members of – an OL ultra called “Mezza Lyon”, and not officially recognized by the club.
