At Olympique de Marseille for eighteen months, Jonathan Clauss spoke of the enormous pressure weighing on Marseille players.

Marseille is a city like no other for an Olympian player. Jonathan Clauss, arriving in the summer of 2022, was able to measure it after a year and a half in the Marseille city. And the former Lensois may have been warned, his daily life went beyond what he expected.

“Before you arrive here, everyone tells you: ‘You have to know where you’re going!’ Only, until we set foot there, you can’t know. It’s like a revelation, you need character to sign for OM, you need personality to sign for OM, you have to stand the pressure. You have to live it to the fullest to know who you are. And you have two solutions: you suffer or you assume”, he confided in the columns of L’Equipe.

“If you’re not physically stable and strong, it’s too much to handle. When I launch into something, I do it 2000%, the slightest impact, I feel it”he continued, adding: “You have to find the right balance on a psychological level because life at OM is crazy.”
