Bayern, the big accusation

The Turkish club is unhappy with the result of the draw between Bayern Munich and Copenhagen, which complicates its qualification for the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.

The draw between Bayern Munich and Copenhagen (0-0) in the Champions League did not do Galatasaray’s business. Okan Buruk’s men now have no choice but to win their next match against the Danes if they wish to ensure their qualification for the round of 16.

Indeed, a victory for the Rekordmeister, conditional on a victory or a draw for Thomas Tuchel’s men against Manchester United on the last day, would have allowed the Turks to validate their qualification with a draw against the residents of Parken Stadium. But the sharing of points between Bayern and Copenhagen changed the situation.

“They ran for the first time this season”

The SĂĽper Lig champion (Turkish D1) has no other options than victory. The Istanbul coach also expressed his disappointment after the meeting between his two rivals at the Allianz Arena last Wednesday.

“They ran for the first time this season, we didn’t have the impression that they wanted to win,” he said in comments relayed by Bild. “We are the unfortunate team because we had to play against Bayern on the third and fourth day. We want to win in Copenhagen and do our job. I expect a lot from Bayern for the last match against Manchester,” he then warned.
