The young Italian coach spoke about his former player at Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo.
Andrea Pirlo only stayed one season as Juventus coach (2020/2021). Despite qualifying for the c1 and winning the Italian Cup, he was asked to give up his apron. A delicate experience but one that he still has fond memories of. In his eyes, just his collaboration with Cristiano Ronaldo was worth having experienced this adventure.
“Ronaldo? An exemplary professional »
The 2006 world champion really enjoyed coaching the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. And he honestly admits that he learned more from Portuguese than the opposite.
“Training Ronaldo makes you understand how to become number one in the world.
He’s an exemplary professional in every aspect: from how he eats, how he recovers, to how he trains.”

“Training Ronaldo helps you understand how to become world number one. He is an exemplary professional in all areas: how he eats, how he recovers, how he trains,” Pirlo said in an interview with Radio Serie A.
In this interview, Pirlo also sought to pay tribute to a coach in particular. The one he knew during his very end of career, in Antonio Conte. “Going to Juventus was revenge for me. I really wanted to show everyone that I was still a great player capable of playing at a high level. Conte was the first to make me analyze the situations on the pitch, I thought like a coach with him.”
