Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has explained what he thinks of his biggest managerial rival.

Guardiola bows to Klopp

Guardiola has now been in the Premier League since the start of the 2016-17 season, and his team has won the last three league titles. During this period, his team has faced Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp on 29 occasions.

Asked who he considered his biggest rival, the Spaniard logically cited the German technician: “Jürgen Klopp. Firstly because we have faced each other thousands of times, in Germany and here. Second, because he often beat me and it was always a challenge to do it again and again. I respect him a lot because of the way his teams play, at Dortmund, Mainz and now Liverpool. It’s very attractive and very positive.”

“We respect each other, at least from my point of view, I respect him a lot, continued Guardiola about the Reds manager. Of course we argue and I don’t like being beaten by him, but he has been my biggest rival for the number of times we have competed against each other, the difficulty and the pleasure when we have beaten them.
