Former Nantes striker Andy Delort believes that if Galtier is reprehensible for his attitude, then what about Kombouaré.

Christophe Galtier is once again attacked from all sides in the media for his behavior towards the Muslim players of OGC Nice. This Tuesday, a player sought to defend himself, in the person of Andy Delort. And while pleading the cause of his former coach at the Gym, the Franco-Algerian put Antoine Kombouaré at odds.

For Delort, Galtier is “no worse” than Kombouaré!

During an interview on RMC Sport, Delort said that the Kanak technician was much more extreme in his management with the players who were doing Ramadan: “I was in Nantes, and he completely banned a player (Jaoued Hadjam, editor’s note) from playing if he was fasting. Galtier is no worse than Kombouaré. He just asked one of his players to get up at 5 a.m. to eat. He cared about his health.”

Delort, who is currently playing in Qatar, also denied the comments attributed to Galtier. Words which have earned him the right to be prosecuted today. “Me, sincerely, I never heard Christophe Galtier make the comments that came out. It just started from his war with Julien Fournier,” he indicated.

As a reminder, during Galtier’s stay in Nice, he had three Fennecs under his direction, including Delort. And the latter was the only one he had personally recruited. When signing, the player promised not to play the CAN with Algeria. And he didn’t have any problems with Ramadan either since, unlike Atal and Boudaoui, he is not Muslim.
