FC Barcelona is studying the possibility of bringing Thiago Alcantara back into its squad. The latter has been performing in Liverpool since 2020 but he would not be against a return home.
Thiago to replace Gavi at Barça
According to the daily Sport, Barça therefore wishes to repatriate the midfielder from La Masia from January. The idea is to replace Gavi, who is absent for a long period due to injury.
Despite the physical problems encountered by the player during his stay at Anfield, Barca leaders believe that Thiago will be happier in Spain where his body will be better adapted to the demands of LaLiga.
Barca are reportedly looking to secure a loan move for Mazinho’s son (32), whose contract at Anfield expires in June. Note, however, that on this issue they face competition from Inter Milan and Juventus.
