Thomas Tuchel paid tribute to two players he had under his command during his time at PSG.

It’s been three years since Thomas Tuchel left Paris. The German technician, however, has not forgotten anything about his experience in the French capital. He particularly remembered the good memories. Those who provided him with certain players from the Ile-de-France team.

Tuchel appreciated two players

On the podium at the ISPO show in Munich, Tuchel spoke about his relationship with the players he managed in France. And he mentioned two of them by name. “There were the big names, but there were also others who were less in the spotlight. In Paris, there was Thiago Silva and Marquinhos. I learned a lot from these players as a coach. They are role models, and they are important because they carry the team.”

Tuchel reunited with Thiago Silva at his next club Chelsea. Together, they went to win the European Champions League. Something they had not managed to do in France.

The current Bayern coach also focused on his way of managing players with oversized egos, such as Kylian Mbappé. “They are very demanding and full of talent. They have a big ego that pushes them to move forward. You have to have good contact, otherwise you won’t be able to convince them of your ideas.”
