The English club Arsenal has reportedly decided to part ways with one of its midfielders during the next transfer window.
Arsenal are considering a transfer for Thomas Partey next January. Italy could be the former Atlético player’s next destination.
Arteta wants new blood
According to ESPN, the Gunners need a major sale to fund manager Mike Arteta’s recruitment plans. And with Juventus showing interest, the Ghana international could be the player to sacrifice.
Arteta wants to add a new striker and midfielder to his squad in January. But, before thinking of strengthening itself, it must already downsize because the club’s finances are not in the best shape.
As a reminder, Partey arrived at Arsenal in October 2020 for an amount of 50 million euros. Within the London team, he played 104 matches (including 81 as a starter) and was only decisive on nine occasions (5 goals and 4 assists). This season, he is blocked in the midfield by Rice, Odegard, Fabio Vieira and Jorginho.
