ASM beat Montpellier this Sunday as part of the 14th day of Ligue 1 (2-0). Any benefit the day after the defeat of Nice.

Le Gym surprised in Nantes on Saturday evening (1-0), Monaco had the opportunity this Sunday to almost catch up with their Riviera rival in the event of success against Montpellier – a team in great difficulty in recent weeks. Despite some scares, the Rocher players provided the essentials on the Rocher, winning with a score of 2-0.

Thanks to Minamino, the Monegasques made the difference on the scoreboard from the 9e minute – the expulsion of Kouyaté in the second half did not really help the Héraultais to do better (67e). And yet, like Al Tamari, the Pailladins were threatening until the very end. Until the break goal signed Ben Yedder in added time (90e+2).

Two points from Nice

With this result, Monaco carried out one of the good operations of the day. Here is the Principality club back to within two lengths of second place occupied in Nice; six units behind the Parisian leader. Provisionally four points ahead of Lille, fourth joined on Friday by Reims and which hosts Metz at the end of the afternoon.
