Mohamed Salah has revealed what he likes to do when he is not playing for his club or country.

In an interview given to Sky Sports, the Egyptian striker admitted that he was addicted to chess. The Liverpool player is truly passionate about the game and even indicated what ‘Elo’ (a ranking system that calculates the relative ability of chess players) he has (1400).

I play chess, I’m addicted to chess. Every day, literally every day. I put my name and other numbers so people would ask me if I’m Mo Salah. »

“I answer ‘Yes’, they don’t believe me and say ‘You’re lying’, I answer ‘Yes, I’m lying’. I’m good, I’m not Magnus (Carlsen) but I’m good. Nobody has a chance with Magnus. »

Norwegian grandmaster Carlsen, 32, then posted an emoji on X (formerly Twitter) in reference to Salah. A proper invitation.
