Cristiano Ronaldo is the subject of a collective complaint which could damage a (very) large part of his fortune.
Among the highest paid athletes in the world for almost twenty years now and at the head of a veritable empire between underwear brands, hotels in his name or clinics specializing in hair care, Cristiano Ronaldo enjoys a fortune difficult to assess. However, many specialists consider that the Portuguese striker now exceeds one billion euros.
But according to information from the BBC, Cristiano Ronaldo could see this fortune reduced to little. Consequence of the collective complaint of which he is the subject in the United States, the plaintiffs claiming damages in excess of one billion dollars. This complaint follows the collapse of the CR7 collection of non-fungible tokens launched by the company Binance, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges and digital currency portfolio management.
At the time of launch, in November 2022, a token actually cost 77 dollars, or around 70 euros. But its value is now only one dollar, or 0.91 euros, and buyers consider that they were pushed by the advertisements made by Cristiano Ronaldo for the benefit of Binance to make investments at a loss. Hence the subject of their complaint. In recent months, the Portuguese has indeed repeatedly praised the merits of these NFTs on social networks. Advertisements that brought in big revenue but could cost him dearly.
