It’s done ! OM formalizes the arrival of Medhi Benatia, Jean-Pierre Papin takes over the reserve team.

There is movement at OM! In an official note released this Thursday, the Marseille club announced that it had found “an agreement” for the arrival of Medhi Benatia as sports advisor.

Having played with the OM youth teams but never appearing with the A, Benatia retired from sports in November 2021.

The Marseille club details: “In close collaboration with Pablo Longoria, Chairman of the Management Board, and Stéphane Tessier, Managing Director, he will assist in the development and implementation of the club’s sports strategy, in particular to attract, train and retain the best talents . Still in a consulting role, he will also participate in detection and scouting missions, in conjunction with Roberto Malfitano, promoted to head of scouting for the professional team. »

Note that Jean-Pierre Papin has been appointed coach of the Marseille club’s reserve team.
