According to RMC Sport, the meeting held this Wednesday between the Italian technician and the owner of OL, the departure of the 2006 world champion seems confirmed. The former full-back has already been informed of his dismissal. This should be formally notified to him by David Friio, in the process of becoming the new sporting director of the Rhone club, a position he held until recently in Marseille.
A return of Genesio
The dismissal of Fabio Grosso could be made official in the next few hours. The tweet announcing the press conference of the future ex-Lyon coach this Thursday at 1 p.m. was therefore canceled. Still according to RMC, Pierre Sage, the director of the training center, should take over on an interim basis, notably against Lens this weekend and Olympique de Marseille next week.
The Marseille leaders, however, already have three names in mind to take the reins of OL: Bruno Genesion, who recently left Stade Rennais and has the enormous advantage of knowing the Lyon house perfectly, as well as two coaches who have passed through the OM, and who therefore know David Friio well: Jorge Sampaoli and Igor Tudor, still without a club since his departure from Marseille next summer.
