Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is (only) the second top scorer in the history of the Europa League, three goals behind record holder Radamel Falcao.

Failing to make OM history, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, at 34, enters the history of the Europa League a little further. Scorer from the penalty spot against Ajax on Thursday evening at the Stade Vélodrome, the Gabonese international becomes only the second scorer in the history of the European competition (which replaced the UEFA Cup in 2009).

Aubame, who was tied with Aritz Aduriz (Bilbao), is on 27 goals, just three goals behind record holder Radamel Falcao! The native of Laval still has one last group match in two weeks in Brighton then a possible play-off or directly a round of 16 of the Europa League to improve his statistics and hope to catch up with the Colombian “El Tigre”.

In the Europa League, “PEA” scored 11 goals with Dortmund in 2015-2016 then 14 goals in 26 matches with Arsenal (including 8 in 2018-2019 until the final, lost against Chelsea). He also found the net twice with Barça.
