For Samir Nasri, there was no penalty

Present on the Canal Champions Club set, Samir Nasri was surprised by the penalty awarded to PSG in added time against Newcastle.

PSG came very close to the correctional facility on Tuesday evening. While a new defeat against the Magpies would have drastically reduced their chances of qualifying, the Parisians only owed a penalty awarded by Mr. Marciniak in the final moments of added time to snatch a draw (1-1 ) which allows them to always have their destiny in hand before the sixth and final day, in two weeks.

And Parisians can consider themselves lucky. Because the penalty awarded for a handball from an English defender is anything but obvious. While the English camp cried foul, Samir Nasri also expressed his incomprehension of the Polish referee’s decision. “For me, there is never a penalty! The ball hits the body first and then bounces on the hand, even if the rule no longer exists. And the rules, sometimes, they are not all good. I think it’s compensation for everything that happened during the match. For me, on both hands, there is no penalty,” he said on the Canal Champions Club stage in reference to a hand from Milan Skriniar just before the break, nevertheless adding: “The penalty, I see it in the action of Achraf Hakimi.”
