While the Paris Saint Germain hosted Newcastle (1-1) as part of the 5th round of the group stage of the Champions League, several other big European teams were on stage this Tuesday evening across the four corners of the continent.

Borussia Dortmund won the clash of the 5th day of the Champions League by winning 3-1 on the pitch of AC Milan. Marco Reus, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Karim Adeyemi scored for BVB, while Samuel Chukwueze was the only one to shine on the rossonero side.

Victory at the last minute for City

Manchester City, the current title holder, won 3-2 on the Leipzig pitch. Loïs Openda scored twice for the Germans, while Erling Haaland and Phil Foden responded for the Citizens. It was finally thanks to a saving goal from Julian Alvarez (87′) that the Sky Blues achieved the hold-up.
Red Star Belgrade was beaten 2-0 by Young Boys and was eliminated from the competition like their evening opponents.

The Joãos save Barcelona

This evening, FC Barcelona managed to win against Porto (2-1). Xavi’s men were first led to the score by the Portuguese in the first half by Pepe (30′), before coming back to the score two minutes later by João Cancelo (32′). Returning from the locker room, his compatriot João Félix took charge of giving the Culés the advantage (57′). A little earlier in the evening, Shakhtar Donetsk won by the smallest of scores against Antwerp (1-0).

Atlético Madrid gets by thanks to two CSCs

Finally, Atlético Madrid won against Feyenoord, winning with a score of 1 to 3. A success that the Colchoneros owe in part to two goals against their camp from Lutsharel Geertruida (14′) and Santiago Giménez (81′ ). Lazio de Rome, winner of Celtic Glasgow (2-0), collected 3 points, and consolidates its second place in Group E, one length behind the Madrilenians.
