Winner at San Siro (1-3), Borussia Dortmund ensured their qualification for the round of 16 of the Champions League, while Milan slipped to last place in the group before the last day.

In this group F of death, it is Borussia Dortmund who will come out on top. The Germans ensured their qualification for the round of 16 of the Champions League by winning this Tuesday evening in Milan (1-3).

The match could have taken another turn if Olivier Giroud had not missed his penalty in the first minutes (6th), but it was the BvB which took the lead thanks to another penalty, this time transformed without trembling by Marco Reus (1-1, 10th).

AC Milan managed to come back with a superb goal from Samuel Chukwueze, author of a spectacular solo raid (1-1, 37th). But Dortmund crucified their opponent twice in the second half, with goals from Jamie Bynoe-Gittens (1-2, 59th) and Karim Adeyemi (1-3, 69th).

For Dortmund, this could have been the perfect scenario without PSG’s equalizer in added time against Newcastle (1-1), because first place would have been assured. The BvB will have to not lose against Paris in two weeks to come out on top of the group.

Milan, for their part, slips to fourth place. The Rossoneri still have a small chance of qualifying, in the event of a victory at Newcastle on the 6th day, but PSG will also have to lose in Germany. A place in the Europa League may also be possible for Giroud and his teammates.
