For Dortmund, this could have been the perfect scenario without PSG’s equalizer in added time against Newcastle (1-1), because first place would have been assured. The BvB will have to not lose against Paris in two weeks to come out on top of the group.
Milan, for their part, slips to fourth place. The Rossoneri still have a small chance of qualifying, in the event of a victory at Newcastle on the 6th day, but PSG will also have to lose in Germany. A place in the Europa League may also be possible for Giroud and his teammates.
