Rennes striker, Martin Terrier, had strong reactions towards his former coach Bruno Genésio.
Stade Rennais began a new cycle on Sunday evening. Under the leadership of his new coach Julien Stéphan, he easily dominated Reims (3-1). At the end of the game, the Rouge et Noir savored the success but without forgetting their former coach Bruno Genésio.
Genésio left only good memories in Rennes
Martin Terrier was the first to pay tribute to him. “I have a very special relationship with him, because I also had him in Lyon, he began by recalling on Canal+ Foot. I would like to thank him for the trust he has shown in me. He is an excellent coach. Personally and as a coach, he gave us a lot. And for me, he took me through milestones.”
Besides Terrier, Benjamin Bourigeaud also sought to thank Genésio. “Obviously, the departure of a coach is always difficult. I met him several times here. It obviously hurts to lose a man who was always behind us and with whom we shared emotions. A fabulous man. And we want to thank him with this victory. Unfortunately, we were not able to extend the adventure with him. We wish him the best for the future.”
Genésio is therefore already much missed at Roazhon Park. Nevertheless, without him, the Breton team gleaned its first success in the championship in two months. The illustration perhaps that a separation was ultimately inevitable.
