The LA Galaxy are reportedly interested in Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette in January.

The MLS team has reportedly decided to sign Lacazette, a 32-year-old player who matches the “profile” of the striker they are looking for.

In addition to Lacazette, Spanish striker Alvaro Morata is also in the running, but he has “no intention” of leaving Spain for the moment, according to the source. The Galaxy currently have two vacancies, and it is likely that Lacazette will fill one of them, as the club looks to rebuild its offense in the offseason.

The Galaxy are indeed in desperate need of a striker. Douglas Costa and Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez both left the club in the offseason, and their offensive options are now very thin.

Lacazette is a proven striker, but the question of whether or not to spend a large sum of money (salary and transfer fee) on a 32-year-old needs to be raised. The club is currently in limbo and its supporters are not happy with the situation it finds itself in compared to the elite teams in MLS.
