Man City failed in its task this Saturday by sharing the honors with Liverpool. Guardiola wasn’t complaining though.

Once again, Manchester City was unable to dominate a direct competitor in the Premier League. After Arsenal and Chelsea, it was against Liverpool that the Sky Blues let points slip away. But it took much more to upset Pep Guardiola.

Guardiola applauds his troops

“It was a great performance. I am very proud that after eight years we are still playing this way, indicated the Catalan coach during his intervention on BBC at the final whistle. We were very good in all areas and we had to be so against an incredible team.”

Guardiola also stressed that he had nothing to reproach his men, except for a little more accuracy in the zone of truth. “We may have missed the last pass, but they defended very well. The fact that we only conceded two shots on target against Liverpool is a great compliment to the way we work.”

Regarding the goal scored by Erling Haaland, the Sky Blues manager said: “It was really good and Nathan (Aké)’s action was perfect. We know the quality of Erling.”

He clashed with Nunez

Guardiola, on the other hand, said no word about his collision with the opposing striker, Darwin Nunez, at the edge of the field. The incident is already making the rounds on social networks.
