Cristiano Ronaldo set a new first division goalscoring record in football history after his new double for Al-Nassr.

The 38-year-old scored twice in Al-Nassr’s 3-0 win over Al-Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League on Friday. He thus brings his record for league goals to 527, more than any other player in history, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Ronaldo’s second goal was particularly impressive, with a lob from distance into the visitors’ net. It was his 15th goal in 13 league appearances this season and his 18th goal in all competitions. His team is now second in the Saudi Pro League, one point behind rivals Al-Hilal, who face Al-Hazem on Saturday.

Ronaldo set most of his La Liga goalscoring records with Real Madrid, scoring 311 times in the Spanish division. He also scored 81 goals in Serie A with Juventus and three in the Primeira Liga with Sporting.
