With Vinicius Junior out with a hamstring injury until January at the earliest, Real Madrid’s attacking options have been further reduced.

With Rodrygo and Joselu Mato, Carlo Ancelotti only had three natural strikers, but now there are only two.

Despite this, there are reports that Real Madrid have no plans to sign another striker in January, with the club’s management content to keep things as is. However, Elio Letterio Pino has claimed (via Diario AS) that he is in talks with Los Blancos for his client, Mauro Icardi.

“I’m in Madrid. Real Madrid have not made an offer for Icardi. They haven’t made an official offer yet, but we are speaking with club officials.”

Icardi is a former La Masia player, having attended Barcelona’s academy between 2008 and 2011. He currently plays for Galatasaray and was linked with Real Madrid this week. It appears things are moving quickly and a deal could be reached in January.
