His meeting against Monaco was ultimately quite paradoxical. Author of a timid start to the match where he multiplied the technical inaccuracies, Vitinha was finally able to make the difference in the second half. Much more impactful, the former Porto player was able to raise his level of play and the Portuguese midfielder was rewarded with a splendid goal, his third in the league this season.
Questioned by Prime Video after the match, the 23-year-old expressed his satisfaction at the end of this strong victory: “it’s a great victory, we were better than Monaco, who had a very good start to the Championship. It feels good to have scored. I’m trying more than last year, the opportunities are there, but I’m trying to improve. We want to be in control of the match all the time, that’s what the coach wants. But we didn’t manage to do that all the time, even with the three goals scored, Monaco was there. In the second half…we have to see what happened.
