Rejected by the FFF Higher Appeal Commission on Friday, OL could take a radical decision with a view to Olympico.
After the Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League, the Higher Appeal Commission of the French Football Federation delivered its verdict on the incidents which last October 29 caused the OM-OL clash in Marseille. The federal body thus ruled the Lyonnais’ appeal inadmissible, as the League had estimated two weeks earlier that OM could not be held responsible for a malicious act committed outside the Vélodrome enclosure.
This decision, inevitably, was poorly received in the capital of Gaul. “ My shoulders are strong even if you wouldn’t say it, and I came back. But of course it was a day that touched me a lot, really a lot… The lack of sanction is unacceptablesays Fabio Grosso, the Rhone coach who was the victim of the stone crushing of the Lyon bus in the Marseille city last month. A fortnight ago, OL football director Vincent Ponsot did not hide what his club expected from this call: a relocation of Olympico to neutral ground and a closed session. This OM-OL will ultimately be played in Marseille and in public; and according to RMC, the Gones, tired of not being heard, will not go so far as to refer this matter to the Administrative Court. A Lyon boycott, however, cannot be ruled out. The hypothesis was not completely ruled out just a few days ago. “ We are not theresaid Vincent Ponsot then.
