Ligue 1: PSG crushes AS Monaco after a very lively match

International break over, serious things are starting again for the clubs. And before the return of the Champions League and a shock not to be missed against Newcastle, PSG had to play a first meeting against AS Monaco, at the Parc des Princes, in order to maintain its first place. The Asemites wanted to bring down Paris in order to get back to the level of Nice, second in the Championship. And without Zaire-Emery, Marquinhos and Mendes, PSG experienced some early scares, like a beautiful header from Magassa (11th). Well into its match, ASM even thought of opening the score, but a goal from Vanderson was refused for offside at the start of the action (15th).

In difficulty, PSG still managed to open the scoring, notably thanks to a notable error from Köhn, who released the ball just in front of Ramos (1-0, 18th). But the goalkeepers were obviously not at their best at the start of the match, since after Köhn, Donnarumma completely missed and offered the equalizing ball to Minamino (1-1, 22nd). And in a decidedly lively encounter, Magassa missed and offered the Parisians a penalty, converted by the “Top Scorer of Ligue 1”: Kylian Mbappé, for his 14th goal (2-1, 38th).

A lively match until the end

But Monaco had the opportunity to come back, but Minamino saw Donnarumma deprive him of the double, twice (45th, 51st). And ASM paid dearly, since they were then punished by a very good rush from Dembélé, who, after being involved in the first goal, finally unlocked his goal counter (3-1, 70th) . And Monaco didn’t even have time to react, as Vitinha nailed the result with a long shot (4-1, 73rd). While we thought we were seeing the Rocher players sink, Balogun gave his team hope straight away (4-2, 75th).

But despite a big opportunity from Zakaria, with a header (90th), it was not enough to come back into the score and prevent PSG from notching a fifth victory in a row in Ligue 1, with a final achievement by Kolo Muani (5 -2, 90th+5). The Parisians therefore win and are guaranteed to finish this 13th day at the top of the French Championship, before thinking about the Champions League. Monaco, which concedes a second match in a row without winning, remains in 3rd place, before receiving Montpellier.
