José Mourinho has suggested he would be more inclined to move to Saudi Arabia than return to coach Real Madrid in the near future.
Mourinho’s contract at AS Roma will end at the end of the season and he has reportedly rejected a lucrative offer to move to the Saudi Pro League over the summer. The prospect of a return to Spain to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Madrid has also been raised, but Mourinho believes the club already has the ideal man at the helm.
The Portuguese coach spoke to Rai2: “Me at Real Madrid? When you have a great coach, why would you consider another? Knowing Don Florentino (Perez, president of Real Madrid), and I know him very well, he is a very intelligent man. If he reads the press, he has very clear ideas. As a Madrilenian, as a man with white ribs and as an Ancelottian, I hope that the season goes wonderfully and that Carlo will still be there next season, because I think he is the perfect coach for Real Madrid.
Asked about the possibility of a move to the Middle East, Mourinho again admitted that such a move seemed inevitable, adding: ” I’ll tell you the truth, I think I’ll go there one day. But when I say ‘one day’, I don’t mean tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.
