The prosecution requested a nine-year prison sentence for Dani Alves, accused of rape in Spain.
Dani Alves risks very big. According to Spanish media, the Barcelona prosecutor’s office has requested nine years in prison for the Brazilian international, accused of raping a young woman in a nightclub in the Catalan city at the end of last year. The public prosecution also requests compensation of 150,000 euros for the victim, as well as 10 years of supervised release.
After the indictment, will come the turn of the private accusation, led on behalf of the victim by lawyer Ester García, then the defense of the former Barça and PSG player, who has been incarcerated since last January .
During the investigation, Dani Alves proposed four different versions of the events that occurred in this Barcelona nightclub. The Brazilian first assured that he did not know the victim, then he admitted to having met him in the toilets of the establishment. Alves then explained that the girl had performed oral sex on him, consensually. But when traces of semen were found in the victim’s private parts, the 40-year-old finally spoke of a consensual sexual relationship with the accuser. Alves explains that he lied to hide his infidelity from his wife, Joana Sanz, who has since left him.
