Following the rumor suggesting that Fabio Grosso could be replaced by Jorge Sampaoli which came out this Wednesday, John Textor wanted to clarify things.
Fabio Grosso already on the move? According to information from the Italian journalist, Rudy Galetti, Olympique Lyonnais would have contacted the former OM coach, Jorge Sampaoli, with a view to taking over from the Italian coach, who has not convinced since his arrival in the Rhône last September. Information immediately confirmed by So Foot.
“I continue to support Fabio”
Yes, but according to OL owner John Textor, this is not the case. “Absurdly false. I never contacted a coach to replace Fabio. I continue to support Fabio”, wrote the American leader on his X account (formerly Twitter). Enough to put an end to rumors? Nothing is less sure…
Absurdly untrue. I have never contacted any coach as a replacement for Fabio. I remain very supportive of Fabio. https://t.co/USSA6FKurI

If Fabio Grosso was given a reprieve after Les Gones’ first victory of the season at Rennes (0-1) just before the international break, he will be expected at the turn during the next matches. Matches which will not be easy to negotiate for the Lyonnais, who will host Lille this weekend, before traveling to Lens then Marseille.
