Manchester United is going through a never-ending sporting crisis, accompanied by problematic individual cases (Antony, Sancho) which are the focus of the English press on a daily basis. But a new subject alerts Mancunian fans. If the team is no longer really holding up, the stadium is struggling to stand up.
Indeed, for several weeks the English press has been pointing out the dilapidation of Old Trafford, once a major stadium on the European scene, now made obsolete by the stadiums built in recent years in England (Emirates Stadium, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to recite nobody else but them). The problem goes beyond the dilapidation of Old Trafford, with supporters now regularly taking photos of evidence of the dangerous nature of the premises. Thus, the Daily Mirror publishes photos of chunks of concrete on the ground, apparently from the roof of Old Trafford…
