While Manchester United has been running behind its glorious sporting past for more than two decades, it is now facing the visible deterioration of its legendary Old Trafford stadium.
The good years are becoming more distant every day for Manchester United supporters and the under-twenties have no longer experienced the joy of a Premier League or Champions League title. A (almost) common currency during the era of Sir Alex Ferguson, victory in these two major competitions is no longer anything but a distant and unattainable dream for the Red Devils of Erik ten Hag who now fight with their weapons of the moment. And if the sporting context is not rosy, things are not better at Old Trafford.
The famous “Theater of Dreams”, home of Manchester United, is not in its best shape and if the situation was already known to supporters, some of them provided new proof this week. Photos were posted online on social networks this weekend, while the United women’s team played the Manchester derby in the Super League, against their neighbors City (1-3 defeat). In these photos taken by fans present at the scene, small pieces of the concrete structure lie on the ground.
