Coming 28th in the France Football 2023 Ballon d’Or (without having obtained a vote), Randal Kolo Muani is not one of the 30 nominated for the title of best player of the year at the 2023 Globe Soccer Awards organized in Dubai.
While waiting for the programming of The Best Fifa Football Awards 2023, the world of football will closely follow another awards ceremony, the Globe Soccer Awards 2023, on January 19, 2024. The Globe Soccer Awards do not have the same notoriety as The Best and the Ballon d’Or, but the gala has been organized since 2010 in Dubai (in the exceptional Atlantis) by the association of European clubs (ECA) as well as the European Association of Players’ Agents (EFAA).
The list of 30 nominees for the title of best player of the year 2023 was revealed on Tuesday and Erling Haaland is this time the favorite to succeed Karim Benzema. Kylian Mbappé could be the Norwegian’s runner-up, while Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are mentioned but now play in secondary championships.

Two other French players are named: “KB9”, who finished his last season at Real Madrid with 19 goals in La Liga, and Antoine Griezmann, on cloud nine for a few months with Atlético. Randal Kolo Muani is therefore snubbed by the panel of former players, even though he was one of the 30 nominated for the Ballon d’Or (to arrive in 28th place without a single point).
Before playing at PSG and having a disappointing first part of the season (3 goals in 11 matches in all competitions), “RKM” was one of the best players in the Bundesliga with Frankfurt. He finished 3rd top scorer (15 goals behind Niclas Füllkrug and Christopher Nkunku) and 2nd best passer in the championship (12 assists behind Raphaël Guerreiro).
