Didier Deschamps should change everything, or almost everything, three days after receiving Gibraltar.
The Blues have one last push to give. Author of a truly flawless performance since the start of the qualifiers with seven victories in seven matches, Didier Deschamps’ men hope to end 2023 with one last success. Three days after teaching the lesson in Gibraltar (14-0), the French team has a meeting in Greece and intends to end the year on a good note.
The world vice-champions will nevertheless have to deal with a significantly reshuffled team since there should only be two of them to have started against Gibraltar. In attack, Kingsley Coman, Marcus Thuram and Kylian Mbappé should give way to Ousmane Dembélé, Olivier Giroud and Randal Kolo Muani. And if in midfield, Antoine Griezmann and Adrien Rabiot should be renewed, supported by Boubacar Kamara, Didier Deschamps should also line up a new-look defense.
The French coach should trust a London hinge, made up of Axel Disasi and William Saliba, while in the corridors, it is Jules Koundé and Lucas Hernandez who should officiate. And even the goalkeeper position is affected by this turnover, Mike Mignan having to give way to Brice Samba.
The probable line-up of the Blues against Greece:
Samba (g) – Koundé, Saliba, Disasi, L.Hernandez – RabiotKamara, Griezmann (c) – Dembélé, Giroud, Kolo Muani
The probable composition of Greece:
Vlachodimos (g) – Baldock, Mavropanos, Retsos, Tsimikas – Bakasetas, Bouchalakis, Pelkas – Konstantelias, Giakoumakis, Masouras.
