Affected with the France team on Saturday evening, Warren Zaire-Emery will be missed by PSG for a significant period.
PSG is the latest victim of the FIFA virus. The French champion club saw one of its protégés, and not the least, return to his infirmary upon his return from selection. And he should stay there for a while. This is his midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.
Zaire-Emery will not play again in 2024
The youngest French international post-war only played 15 minutes for his first cap in Blue. Time for him to pick up an injury and score (in that order). And despite the reassuring words of Didier Deschamps at the final whistle of the match, it seems that the injury is serious enough to keep him out of the field for a while.
If we are to believe what L’Equipe reports in today’s edition, WZE is suffering from a major ligament sprain. His year 2024 would even already be over. And that would be the best scenario. It is possible that his period of unavailability will then be extended, depending on the evolution of the injury once the ankle has deflated.
For Luis Enrique, the Parisian coach, the defection is regrettable to say the least. He will have to do without one of his best players for several important matches. Le Titi will notably miss the two decisive matches in the Champions League against Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund. There will also be league matches against Monaco (November 24) and Lille (December 17).
Paris is looking for a replacement
The same source states that PSG is considering the possibility of recruiting an additional midfielder in January to compensate for this absence. It was already the idea to strengthen ourselves in this sector before this hard blow, and now it is therefore becoming an emergency.
